To start with neither ever played in a bowl game and do not understand Bowl season. IT's like the start of a completely new season. The time off alone is a huge factor. Then add into the mix, coaches still feel like the bowl game is a reward, for the players and staff, for a good season. Yes, reward is how bowl games got started. Best of intentions, warm Florida for the players and fans. Disney world, ect. The only guy who took bowls seriously was JoePA, the same guy who ignored kids being raped in his locker room, by a staff member. That's another thread.

So here is how bowl prep works. The conditioning and weight work outs continue. Practices continue as well. Teams that have games after Xmas may get 3 days with family, depends on how important the bowl is. I suspect with the playoffs no break period. Pre Xmas games are just exhibition games, coaches love bowl invites, because it gives them a practice advantage over those who don't make a bowl. Usually same schedule, Helmet/shoulder pads Monday, with conditioning. Tuesday Full pads and full contact, depending on the drill, to the ground. Weds is just like Tuesday, these are the two longest practices of the week 2 1/2 hr. Thurdsay is like Monday and Friday helmet walk thru, special situations, special teams, ect. Saturday game. If game falls during the week, teams keep the same schedule just adjust it to treat game day as Saturday.

In the last 10 years or so coaches have been forced to take bowls more seriously. Allum don't like spending $3-5k to travel to Florida, only to have their team humiliated by a lessor opponent, who took the game seriously as a way to promote their program. But, still it's two teams from different leagues, playing a meaningless game, now hoping not to get humiliated. Guessing who is going to show up and play, is now added into the capping mix.

Of course the playoffs will get two motivated teams. That's where the bulk of my bowl money was won last year.

This year I'll post a couple of small bowl games for fun. But in the playoffs it's 5 fig time. I expect to win both playoff games and the National champ game, they look like easy games to cap, just like last year.

Yes, my picks are free, I make my money on the games, not fleecing you guys, who are just trying to get ahead, with horrible jobs, ugly wives, a drunken father, and a bunch of kids. For those paying for picks, Caveat Emptor.

Most of your post is lucid and worth reading, but when you precede the discussion with a prepositional phrase like "To start with neither ever played in a bowl game and do not understand Bowl season", it comes off condescending and ignoble.....like a person that lacks self-confidence and compensates for that by telling everyone that he played football in college. Sort of like me telling everyone that I played four years at LSU and have more bowl rings and championships than anyone that played at Virginia Tech, so they should listen to me.

You've been around this forum for a few years and should know that bookiereport posts his NEEDS. He on occasion has picked a game or two which he admits is his own pick not the needs of his folks.
Maybe your opening statement was ambiguous because this could be interpreted that "if you want to be a bookie then you had better have played ball" or " you really don't know how to pick games unless you've played the game".

While Bookiereport enjoys another profitable bowl season, little Codie boy will be in his
mothers basement dreaming. Bookiereport will be firing up his new gas grill to enjoy
some steaks and beer knowing he's had another successful bowl season. By the way, as
Bookie knows, one does not have to spend a fortune to get a grill that will consistently
deliver great-tasting food. In fact, many midpriced grills now have side burners and other
helpful perks once found exclusively on high end models. May I suggest the Weber Genesis
II E-310 model. It's a midsized grill that's good for 18 to 28 burgers or small steaks and only
cost around $700. Weber has higher priced models but for the money, the E-310 is the way
to go. Hard to beat a WEBER.

his is a wonderful item to have in your appliance arsenal!
I always looked at these and thought, "I would never buy that." I thought it was a stupid idea actually, and how on Earth could this machine really cook a pizza? Well, I was so wrong!!! My family absolutely hates it when I buy another appliance. They say I don't need whatever it is I want to buy, or that there is no room in the "Inn" to place another unit of any kind, no matter what it is. Just so you know, I like rings, earrings, and appliances -- not shoes, like most women. Well, I ordered this on a whim and boy did my family give me what for! Now, they all say they absolutely love this Presto Pizza Rotating Oven. We use it all the time and not just for pizza. If you like crisp crust, here is how we do it to get it really nice and crisp. Throw a tablespoon of butter on the rotating pan and take a pastry brush and spread the butter around to cover the entire pan. Place your thin crust (store bought) on the top of the buttered pan. Butter the top of the crust. Now run the machine with the top and bottom heat, until the crust gets golden and crisp. Now put your pizza stuff on the crust, turn on the timer and cook your pizza. The crust is just lovely. If your crust gets too brown, turn off the bottom heating element. If you eat pizza at all in your family, this is better than the regular oven. Boy, I wish they had this when I was in college. That would have been a great item to have. This is a wonderful product and you will love it if you like pizza baked at home. It works well with other food items too.

So, picking out the pertinent information in your post reads that Bookiereport and others actually have the balls to play and post picks on bowl games and you do not. Only a "few small for fun." Only the playoffs get your "5 figure plays".
SO WHY POST YOUR SO DAMN GOOD AT BOWLS GAMES IF YOU DON"T PLAY THEM???????????????

ONLY PLAYOFFS NOW, IT SEEMS. THREE (3) GAMES. WOW!!!

Your BACKPEDELING!!!

Call them as I see them. The blowhards don't bother me, they're loud when their winning and can't be found when they're losing. Pointing at others and saying they are not winning at bowl games because.....and then state I'm not betting but a few small bowls......is just too much. I know this poster enjoys ruffling feathers and probably enjoys the attention.

I don't play every bowl game but I do RESPECT those who post a pick and maybe a nice writeup for most of the bowls played. Takes some guts to post several plays not cherry picking a very few and then claiming to be the best.

LSUPete share some insights into bowl prep at LSU. Training table, weight room, tutors, exams, curfew, scouting reports, ect. Lets hear some details

Less then 1% of all kids that play FB at any level, ever play even one year in College. Add in at the D1 level, and it's less then .1%. The odds of having two D1 players in one tiny chat room are infinitesimal. I share my experiences because no one else here has any clue what it's really like. Spending 4 years for two HOF coaches at HC and DC, and having sat in on 4 years of film study with at HOF DC, gives me a tremendous edge. Sharing my thoughts FOR FREE, costs me nothing.

If I wanted to brag I'd mention the 2 years with the Cowboys, not the one's on Brokeback Mountain.@)

Mr. Vegas I'm not telling people who or how to play bowl games. I am just expressing an opinion, based on actual experience, as to why it's likely for otherwise useful providers of information to struggle in bowl season.

If you have an opinion on the subject, other then Codebreaker is a mean and bad person, express it. It won't be better then mine, but don't let that stop you.

Rumor has it the Minnesota Vikings wanted to trade 14 players for code breaker but then “settled” for Herschel Walker :)

I thought bookie report posts picks of his “players”. If he has a shitty bowl season it means his “players” did well.

let’s win some $$ this bowl season. I enjoy my Weber grill but would love to add an egg and a smoker in the back yard!!

Come on men, a little understanding and compassion for poor Codie boy. I've learned he has
CHRONIC CONSTIPATION. I for one am willing to try and offer advice that might help his dried
up ass.

1. Increase the amount of oil in your diet. A quart of Motorcraft 5W-30 in daily diet will do the
trick. Make sure it's 5W-30 and not any other weight oil. (three times a day)

2. Avoid dry foods. Again a few drops of 5W-30 on dry food will help tremendously.

3. Oil your dry skin. If your skin is dry this is a good indicator that internally you are dry. A
good rub down in Motorcraft 5W-30 should help with the problem.

Passing fewer than three stools a week like Codie is going through has to be difficult...I just
had to try and help his sorry ass. Maybe after trying my suggestions....he will feel and act
better.

No one here, has earned the right to call out frauds, like I have. Pete claims to have played as well, but I'm no so certain.

If I were to charge for my picks, rest assured you'd be paying for 100% winners.

I am certain it was brought up above, but as I fight illness I decided not to read the entire thread, BookieReport is a Book therefore only accepts others' wagers. They are not not picks. So I suppose that means his players have a deeper understanding of the bowl season game? Just wondering.

I usually am thorough before I post, simply not having a good day.

Best of luck to All.
